Peter and JenniferNickname(s): Pete and Jen

“Not flesh of my flesh Nor bone of my bone, But still miraculously my own. Never forget for a single minute, You didn't grow under my heart, But in it.”

Dear Birthmother,

We cannot imagine, only admire, the difficult and emotional decision you have made for your child. You are truly our angel and our desire is to be a part of your journey, helping you along the way and offering you the love and support that you need. We have tried unsuccessfully for several years to conceive a child.  After several close friends and family members formed their families through adoption, the decision to adopt came easily as the way to begin our family.  We have seen firsthand want an amazing gift of love adoption really is with the wonderful experience of the adoption of our daughter, Sophia.

Our love story is not typical at all. Pete and I first met in college and we dated for the school year. When it was time for Pete to graduate and me to enjoy my remaining years at school, we both moved on with our lives. I guess you would call it fate that we met again through a friend. Who knew a chance email from me to Pete would start us on a path of love, laughter, marriage and family. It took us living separately, and becoming the people we are today; to know that we had something special back then and we were meant to be together. Pete and I married and there is not a day that goes by that I am not grateful for being reunited with my love, my soul mate, my best friend. Our love at “second” sight is a story we hope to tell our children and our children’s children one day.

Through patience and hard work, Pete and I have had very successful and fulfilling careers. Pete has been in the steel industry, concentrating in sales, working from a home office. After Pete and I married, we knew that having a family was our priority, so I moved on to a new challenge with a small company a few years ago that allowed me more flexibility, a shorter commute, and no business travel. The years we have both worked have afforded us the ability to save and invest wisely. When we were blessed with Sophia, Jen became a stay-at-home mom and loves every minute of it.

Pete and I live a very full and fun life. Our free time is spent biking, golfing and entertaining friends and family. Pete loves to work in the yard and garage while I can curl up in a cozy chair and read for hours. We were both raised in the Catholic faith and are very active in our neighborhood church and community.

In 2009 we were blessed with the adoption of our daughter and not a day goes by that we do not think of, pray for or give thanks to her birthmother.  We are overjoyed to be parents and look forward to sharing our love with another child.

Thank you for considering us and God bless you.

Pete and Jen
