To the sweet Birth Mother who is reading this letter,
We want to make a promise to you that your child will be loved as our own flesh and blood. We have an endless supply of kisses and hugs so they will never for a minute doubt how much they are loved.
When we met we fell completely in love. It was that crazy kind of love you think only exists in fairy tales. We married in 2005 and in 2006 we were blessed with the miracle of our sweet daughter Claire. Becoming parents completely changed our lives. Every tea party, sleepy-eyed hug and sugar doughnut kiss validated that we wanted to do it all over again. From the day we made the decision to adopt, we have been praying God’s blessings over the child who will join our family and the special mother who is carrying him or her.
With Chris being a minister we are very active in our church. Chris serves as worship leader while Beth runs the preschool. We also love skiing, most sporting events, and boating. In addition to church work, Beth is employed by an airline with enough seniority to fly two days a week, with trips leaving in the morning and returning in the evening so that she is always there to tuck our children in bed every night. An additional benefit of Beth’s job is that our family can travel for free around the world to many exciting destinations.
We’ve always felt that a home is where your family is but the Lord has also blessed us with a warm, cozy house in a beautiful, safe neighborhood. We live in a cul-de-sac where there are a lot of children out playing, having bike races, or running on the community running path that leads right into a playground. Our children will never be short of friends.
Both of us come from very strong and close families. Even though our heritage is from the south, we’ve grown to love Midwest values. Our families are very much a part of our life and when we announced we were adopting you would have thought we had won the World Series. Everyone is excited for the day we bring our new family member home, especially our daughter Claire. She says prayers for her brother or sister everyday and made us promise to mention that she’s “ready for them to hurry up and get here so they can play good guys bad guys if he’s a brother or princesses in a castle if she’s a sister.”
We pray that a peace that passes all understanding come over you while you make this courageous decision.
God Bless you,
Chris and Beth
