Keith and Maria

Hi,

We are Keith and Maria, and we are delighted you are reading our letter. We live in Maryland, and between the two of us have traveled to 45 states, and over 21 countries worldwide. We’ve experienced a multitude of various cultures both in our jobs and through personal travels. And while Maria was born in Portugal, it was a dating service that brought us together. We married in 2002 and had a sweet baby girl in 2006. We have since tried conceiving both naturally and through IVF, and eventually discovered that adoption would be an excellent choice to help us fulfill our dream of having another child to share our love and compassion for God’s gift of life.

We both enjoy the outdoors, gardening, traveling locally, sightseeing, and occasionally camping.  Maria is a great cook, and she loves to sew. Keith is a handyman who loves to fix and build things. During the summer we often gather with friends to have play days for the kids. Our families are geographically separated, which has only strengthened our love for travel. We usually plan trips to Portugal for special occasions like weddings and baptisms, or for just plain relaxation. On our last trip, we invited Keith’s sister and her husband to join us at our European home and helped them celebrate their wedding anniversary international style. Our families always look forward to seeing us since our trips tend to be somewhat occasional.

Keith has had a very rewarding career managing telecommunications projects for embassies worldwide. He approaches his job like he does other things in life, with great dedication, tenacity, and enthusiasm. He retired from the military several years ago, after having an exceptional and rewarding career. Maria is self-employed as a Domestic Engineer, running errands for her client and occasionally preparing special meals for out of town guests. When Maria’s not working, she spends all her time caring for our beautiful daughter Sienna. Both of us are very generous with our time and have always been willing to help those in need.

We live in moderately sized four bedroom house located in a quiet neighborhood with a diverse demographic of nationalities. The residents are very friendly and we all get along very well. We chose this neighborhood due to its proximity to new kindergarten, elementary, junior, and high schools, with the hopes that our children would eventually graduate from these schools.

We know there are many beautiful children in need of a loving family to provide for them and their future, and would very much like to be one of those families.

Sincerely,
Keith and Maria
