Wade and Tabitha
Nickname(s): Wade and Tabbi
Dear Birthmother,
Hello, our names are Wade and Tabitha and we would like to first thank you for choosing to read about our family and considering us in your decision of adoption. We can only imagine how hard your choice is right now, and can not adequately say how grateful we are for this decision. We want you to know we would love the opportunity to raise this wonderful child, and he/she will always know of you and your selfless decision of adoption. We will give this child the most love and care possible, to bring him/her up as a stable, caring, well adjusted adult.
Wade and I met in 1996 at our Military Reserves Unit, and remained friends until December of 1998 were we finally went on our first date (Christmas Eve we went to Titanic) where we both found a companion with the same corny sense of humor. We were engaged in 1999 and married in August of 2000. In 2001, we found out we had fertility issues. After many years of fertility treatments we decided to move in the adoption direction and mysteriously got pregnant on our own. Our son Gryphon was born in February 2005. After a few years we started considering adoption again because we felt something was missing. We realized it was that we would like another child and Gryphon really wanted to have a brother or sister. He is always asking when his new brother or sister will get here.
Wade is a senior software analyst for a financial company; his job affords him the ability to work from home 3 days of the week. So this leaves a lot of time for family. He is an intelligent, fantastically caring and compassionate person who everybody loves and wants to be around, with a great sense of humor. Always ready with a smile. Tabitha’s major in college is Psychology, though she decided to put that on hold to become a stay-at-home mother. She is very involved in Gryphon’s life and in MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) she is quirky, very loving and a very strong woman. We are very close to Wade’s family, his younger sister and her family lives right down the street and at least one of Wade’s parents is over for dinner weekly. So this means that Gryphon is able to spend a lot of time with his aunt, uncle, cousins, and grandparents.
We live in a wonderful culturally diverse neighborhood, which is very close and involved. As a small gated community we try to have a bonfire and play flashlight tag once a month during the warm months and many different functions throughout the year, such as a huge Christmas party, held at our house and a great 4th of July BBQ and fireworks show. We are financial stable, love to travel as we have timeshares all over the world and spend a lot of time with family, friends, and church. We also love going to the park, zoo and the local wildlife preserve at least once a month. We are a family that holds togetherness, communication and humor as our highest priority and would love to share this with your child.
I know this is not a lot to go on, but we would love to get to know you and your concerns. Once again thank you for taking the time to read this, and for the incredible decision to bring your child into the world and making the challenging choice of adoption.
