Dear Birthmother,

We won’t presume to know the energy and emotion that it takes for you to work towards this decision.  We only hope that you have loving, caring people surrounding you while you are making it.  We want to tell you how sincerely happy we are that you’re taking the time to consider us as a family for your baby.  We believe we will be wonderful parents to a beautiful baby one day and would feel blessed if you chose us to love and care for your child. 

We are Phil and Denise.  We met at an early age and have enjoyed spending the last twenty years of marriage together.  We have grown together over the years, becoming best friends, who love to spend time together.  We met at a lake resort where we both came to get away for the summer and make a little money working in a restaurant on the water.  We worked in the restaurant by night and enjoyed boating, skiing, camping and hanging out with friends by day.  Phil and I worked side by side for probably a month before the fateful moment when I literally “fell into his arms”!  I was coming down a set of stairs, slick from the morning mist, when I slipped, fell backwards and was caught by this really tall guy with huge brown eyes, focused only on catching me!  You can imagine my embarrassment, but his kindness and gentle nature soon had me turning red for a different reason.  I was a blushing mess! 

Phil is a real estate broker.  He has a passion for the guitar and enjoys sharing this with everyone at our camp trips and pool parties.  We both enjoy beach trips to the coast during the summer and ski trips to the mountains during spring break.  Phil practices Yoga to stay in shape and also enjoys walks in the hill country.  Denise has a degree in accounting and provides contract accounting and administrative services for her clients.  She works out at the gym to stay in shape and enjoys cooking, reading, hanging out by the pool, and gardening.  We both really enjoy entertaining, having big gatherings of both family and friends.

Our love of outdoors and sense of adventure has taken us all over the world.  We have relaxed on the beaches in Puerto Rico and Cozumel, flown through the air on zip lines in Puerto Vallarta, taken flight on the ski slopes in Taos, been inspired by the national monuments in Washington D.C., and been awed by the lights of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. 

We know our lives are enriched because of the close bonds we share with our family.  We moved to Texas in 1996 so we’ve enjoyed being able to be present in the daily lives of Phil’s little sister and her family.  We’ve done the laser tag birthdays, little girl’s slumber parties, hanging out on the lake, and endless summer nights barbequing at one house or the other.  Denise’s mother and sister also live in the area.   Denise shares a closeness with her nieces and nephews that only comes from being there, consistently, over the years.  Phil also enjoys a special relationship with his nieces and nephews.  Phil, being an Eagle Scout, encouraged his nephew, little Phil, to enter the Soap Box Derby and helped him build a car for the race.  Although they didn’t win, we all had a lot of laughs watching them compete!

We cherish our family and want to bring this gift of love to a child.  We can only say “Thank You” to you for taking the time to learn a little more about us.
