Nickname(s): Steve and Lesley

Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for taking the time to read our letter. It is difficult for us to express in words our deepest appreciation for the strength, self-sacrifice and generosity you are demonstrating through your loving act of adoption. Your thoughtful decision will enrich and bless our lives.  We welcome the opportunity to provide a loving, nurturing, and happy home for your child. We are truly thankful and excited to be new parents.

Well, where do we begin? Steve and I first laid eyes on each other in an elevator eleven-years ago, but, didn’t have a chance to meet until we were introduced by a mutual friend over lunch. It was at this lunch where we first fell in love. We went for coffee later that afternoon, talking, flirting, and laughing together. It felt like we had known each other for years. Soon we were going for coffee together everyday. We were married in 2003. Our love, happiness and laughter continue to grow. Steve and I are best friends and true soul mates.

A strong, loving family is a priority to us. We have two precious daughters, Laney, who is away at college and Samantha (who we adopted last year). Both of our girls are a blessing to our family. Steve and I are enthusiastic, loving parents. Whether we are reading bedtime stories to Samantha, taking walks to the park, or traveling together on family vacations, we love spending time together. Our large, loving family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins are in the immediate area; and, they are all very excited to meet our newest family member.

We enjoy traveling and being outdoors. In addition to our love of travel, Steve plays several musical instruments, including guitar, piano, pedal steel and banjo. He previously toured with a band, playing in festivals from the East Coast to Las Vegas. His favorite gig these days is playing “Old MacDonald” on guitar while Samantha dances.

This past December, we had a fun-filled trip to New York City. We went to see the Rockettes, the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, Central Park, the toys at F.A.O. Schwartz, and the holiday lights. Steve and I feel it is important to take several family vacations each year. We plan to visit New Orleans, Nashville, and San Francisco this year; and, when the children are a little older, we will travel to Europe. Seeing new places through the eyes of a child is truly amazing! These new experiences enrich the lives of everyone in our family; and, they form fond memories that we will cherish all of our lives.

Steve and I both work from home and have flexible schedules. Steve is an engineer with a global technology company and I am a Strategic Account Manager for a global transportation company. We live in a wonderful area, and frequently take advantage of the many parks, trails, museums, sports and entertainment venues. We enjoy international and domestic travel, hiking outdoors, listening to music, talking and laughing over coffee, and pulling out the badminton set for some backyard family fun. We carefully chose our neighborhood because the schools are ranked in the top twenty nationally.

We feel blessed and can’t wait to introduce our child to our family and friends. We look forward to sharing our love, laughter and adventure with our new child. Thank you for considering us with your most precious and amazing gift.

With warmest regards,

Lesley and Steve
