Hello,

We are Michael and Elisa.  We are a family full of love, living in Florida.  We have such an overabundance of love that we need another member in our family to share it with.  We feel sure that God will bless us through adoption. We admire your courage and respect your decision to provide your child with the best life possible.  A life that is full of faith, safe, and full of love.  We offer this and so much more.

Michael and I fell in love and were married in 1994. He was an administrator at a hospital-based wellness center and I was a first grade teacher. Then God blessed Michael with a job with a pharmaceutical company.  We had always dreamed of having children but felt that it was important for me to stay home to care for a child.  Now we were financially able to do this.  So after ten years of marriage, and thirteen years of teaching, God blessed us with Emma Jo.  We feel God has a plan for our family and it will include another child to love. 

Michael’s hobbies include running, exercising at the gym, and home improvements. Elisa enjoys gardening, exercising, refurbishing used furniture, and interior design.  Together we enjoy playing and reading with Emma Jo, taking exercise classes at the gym, working on home renovations, traveling, and cooking meals together.  We enjoy each other’s humor and have lots of fun just being together.

We have grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles with whom we socialize often.  Several cousins are also proudly adopted. Michael’s parents live in Canada.  It is our family tradition to visit Grandmother and Grandfather’s house every summer for at least two weeks.  From their home, we travel to the family cabin for a week.  We always bundle up in our coats and have a campfire after dinner and roast marshmallows.  While enjoying the campfire, we always see aunts, uncles, and cousins who drop by for a visit.

It is also a tradition that Grandmother and Grandfather come to Florida and stay with us for at least two months every winter.  Of course, we love spending Thanksgiving and Christmas with them.  Grandmother cooks a great turkey dinner and afterward a huge pot of turkey soup. Emma Jo enjoys baking and decorating our traditional Christmas cookies and gingerbread house.  We all go to choose the “perfect Christmas tree” and decorate together while enjoying our favorite Christmas music.

We live in a spacious four bedroom, three bathroom home.  In addition, we have one room that we call the playroom (where we try to keep most of the toys), and an area set up that we call “Creation Station.”  This is where we have a nice child-size table with lots of art supplies handy.  We have an outdoor playground with swings, a slide, and a “fort.”  Our home is definitely set up for fun and learning.  We live in the greatest neighborhood!  There are lots of friendly families with lots of children to play with.  We call it a “front yard” neighborhood because all the parents and children are always out in the front yards socializing. We have a wonderful library near our home and visit weekly for story time.  Of course, Disney World, Sea World, and Universal Studios are close by and we rotate our annual passes. Beyond all these wonderful amenities are the greatest gifts anyone can offer a child:  love, security, faith, and a nurturing environment. 

This short letter is just a small peek into the life of our family.  As you can see, our blessings are abundant.  We are patiently and prayerfully awaiting the arrival of our newest family member.  It is an honor to be considered worthy of being parents throughout the life of another person.
