Dear Birthmother,

We want to start off by thanking you for making a courageous and selfless choice to give life to your baby. We consider it an honor that you have decided to consider us to adopt your baby.  We understand this decision to give your child up for adoption is not an easy one. This decision is one that takes a tremendous amount of courage to follow through to see your baby has a healthy, happy and positive life.  We want you to know how much your child will be loved in our home, with toys and games and most of all two people who love children.

We are David and Jennifer, and we are happy to share a little about us. We were introduced by friends and began talking over the phone and through e-mail while David was working on his Doctorate Degree in one state and I was finishing up my Master’s degree in another. When we finally met, we knew we were meant to be together. We married exactly one year after meeting face to face and have grown and deepened our love over the past seven years. We are both very interested in helping and serving others in need. David is a successful Psychologist who opened a private practice in 2006. David has been involved in city government since 2006 and served on the city council for 2 terms. Jennifer is a Recreation Therapist who works with individuals who have Traumatic Brain Injuries and Spinal Cord Injuries.  My job is flexible where I can be a stay at home mom part time. A great asset to David’s practice is that his work schedule is also flexible, which will allow us to trade off parenting duties. Our child will be in child care within our town to run, play and learning how to have fun.

We realize that taking care of our child is our number one priority and we take this responsibly seriously. We both look forward to teaching our child the importance of right from wrong, the importance of helping others, the importance of an education, the importance of faith and the importance of family. We both realize that education is important in today’s world and are planning to home school or enrolling our child into private education.

Our community offers many activities for children such as gymnastics, tennis and dance classes, soccer, swimming lessons, little league, karate classes, music lessons, girl scouts, boy scouts and mighty might football. We also have a zoo, children’s museum, ice rink and a YMCA. We have many parks that we can visit and our local churches offer afternoon programs during the school year. I look forward to taking our child to the library for story time, as my mother did with me.

We plan on reading bedtime stories every night and begin teaching our child how to cook at a young age. I remember looking at pictures of my mom having me sitting on the counter at 3 years old helping to make chocolate chip cookie for my dad and I can’t wait to teach this to our child. We plan on sharing our love for music, Jennifer plays the hand bells in church, piano and cello while David only plays the radio, and for the arts, Jennifer’s mom started to bring her to plays since she was 5 years old, just to name a few. With Jennifer’s family spread across this nation, we plan on traveling to see family as well as visiting museums, historical sites and zoos to within these states. This was one of Jennifer’s favorite activities while growing up. We also enjoy having friends over for food, games and great conversation. Our friends and church are our family here and they are all excited about a new baby to love.

David and I just want to thank you so much for this considering us to adopt your child. We both believe that the grace of God has brought us together during this time and will continue to give us all the support that we need for this precious baby.   You can be assured that your child will be loved and nurtured in our home. You will never be forgotten and we will always hold you in a special place in our hearts.
