Dear Birthmother,

We are Laura and Rob, a happily married couple who strongly desire another child to join our family of three. Please know that we truly admire your bravery in making the resolution to give your baby an opportunity to experience life and deciding that adoption is a wonderful and blessed choice. As you prepare yourself for this journey, we send you supportive and caring thoughts, and a chance to get to know us better through this letter.

We met at work twelve years ago and built a very strong and loving friendship and within two years we married in August 1998. Building a family was always important to us and after a few years of trying to conceive, our miracle son Nolan was born February 2007. He truly is a blessing and a wonderful joy in our lives. It is impossible for us to have any more biological children however our wish is to have another child to love and complete our small family. Our hearts swell with the thought of two little ones in our arms, and the joyous thoughts of watching them grow up. 

Rob works as the Director of Finance for a medical practice located close to home. Laura excitedly left her job as a Human Resources executive to stay at home with our son. Laura and Nolan fill the days with play dates, story time at the library, arts and crafts, Mommy and Me classes, playing in the yard with the neighbor kids, swimming at the local town beach, and whatever else a two year old boy can do.  They have so much fun together and it’s amazing to watch how quickly Nolan learns new things. Laura is currently President of the local Parents Club so we have the opportunity to meet with many of our town parents and children.  Sometimes they meet Rob for lunch at a local diner. Rob can’t wait to get home from work to play with Nolan and to hear about the day's adventures. Nolan runs to the door yelling ‘Daddy’ to be scooped up for a hug. Our weekends are spent together as a family, most of it outdoors, fishing, puddle jumping, ball chasing, searching for bugs, and getting together with family and friends.  We love to take day trips whenever possible and go to local town events, visit family and friends and play with a whole bunch of other kids and their families.

We own a three bedroom home that we renovated ourselves with a wonderful yard in a quiet, wooded suburb close to beautiful lakes and a state park, yet only an hour from a big city. We chose the house for the community and school system, planning ahead for the children who would one day fill the rooms. Our neighborhood has many children playing in the yards, riding bikes, and walking their dogs on our private road.

We are both very close to our families and friends. Rob’s family is only minutes away and his mom and sister love spending time with Nolan. Grandma has a ton of toys for him there and they have a blast playing together. Laura’s family lives across various states; however, they talk daily on the phone or via webcam and often come to visit usually for a few weeks at a time. We have a small extended family that we see as often as possible. Our families and friends can’t wait to share their love and traditions with another child in our family.

We have a strong marriage, a loving and caring family, a son whom we adore and friends whom we love like family. Our home is filled with sounds of little giggles, all kinds of music and children's books and toys in every room. We make it a point to carry on tradition and make our own, find the good in everything, and enjoy life. We realize that you have a difficult decision and we respect the time you are taking to make it. We truly hope and would be honored if you select us. We believe our family will be completed through the adoption of your child who will always know the wonderful story of how we became a family of four.
