Dear Birthmother,

We would like to thank you not only for taking the time to read our letter and learn more about us, but more importantly, for choosing life for your child. Our desire is to express our respect and admiration for your loving decision. Creating an adoption plan requires a great deal of courage, love, trust, and hope. We are very excited at the prospect of providing your baby with a home abounding in love, happiness, laughter and a multitude of opportunities.

We have always hoped children would be a part of our family. When we were told that a pregnancy was highly unlikely and infertility treatments were not an option, we knew God had another plan for us. Raised as Catholics, we believe adoption is the answer to our prayers. Just the thought of parenthood brings joy to our hearts and smiles to our faces. We want the opportunity to teach our child and watch him/her grow.

We met in 1997, through mutual friends and dated through college. It was not long before we realized we were perfect for one another and we have been happily married since 2002. We are an active, outgoing, loving couple, deeply committed to one another and the best of friends. Our home and lives are shared with our dog, Sadie and our cat, Smokey. We love to go on vacations each year, especially camping and kayaking in northern Michigan. We are always taking tons of pictures and we enjoy taking a bike ride, visiting a zoo and having picnics at the nearby metro park. We are both well educated, each having Bachelor’s degrees. Jason is currently employed as a shipping and receiving manager and Jill is a manager of a pediatric rehabilitation clinic. Being around children all day brings her so much happiness. Once the baby arrives, Jill plans to take a leave of absence, and then will return to work on a part-time basis. Her mom has already expressed an interest in helping with childcare.

We live in a three-bedroom home and it is just a short walk to town where there are festivals and parades throughout the year. There are many families with children throughout our neighborhood and we look forward to having play dates at the park. The school system in our city is exceptional, and this is very important to us because we want our child to have the best education. 

Family is a very important part of our lives. We are blessed to have a wonderful family and friends who are so excited and supportive of our decision to adopt. Our extended families include many children and we see them throughout the year for holiday’s and other family events. Everyone is waiting with open arms and loving hearts to welcome a new member to our family, especially our parents because this will be their first grandchild.

Our special note to you is that we promise to love your child unconditionally. We will do everything in our power to provide your child with the life that he or she needs and deserves. Your child will be taught about life and the importance of values. We look forward to the day our family of two becomes a family of three. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers as you make your decision.
