Dominic and Grainna

Dear Birthmother,

Hi, we are Grainna and Dominic, and you are in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult and special time in your life. During our eight year process of infertility and adoption one thing Dominic and I kept coming back to is that “Everything happens for a reason and in its own time”. Of course, at times we could have screamed trying to figure out the “Whys”. But we now know the wait has been worth it, because you are here and you are pregnant with the precious little girl that we are all meant to parent; you for the first nine months and then Dominic and I afterwards. We have faith that you will recognize us and know that we are meant to be your baby's parents.

We will make sure that our little girl’s bedtime stories are filled with the journey we are all sharing. She will know the story of your courage and love for her, how you made the decision for life, and then how you chose us to love, protect and cherish her. She will fall asleep at night knowing she is safe and loved.

Dominic and I have been happily married since 1993. We are very much in love, enjoy life to the fullest and have always wanted to share our lives with a child of our own. We are truly best friends. In our spare time, we enjoy traveling, going to the beach, watching movies, horseback riding and spending time with family and friends. Dominic and I go to Maui and Kauai during the year for snorkeling, hiking, golf and swimming. During the holidays we spend time in New York with family and take in the theatre, ice skating in Central Park, and the tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center. We’re both looking forward to enjoying all these activities as a family.

We will raise our daughter with lots of encouragement, understanding, love and humor. She will know she can talk to us about anything, and that we will listen and give her the best advice possible. We will share the joy of lifelong learning with her, as well as send her to the best schools. We will encourage her to be creative and we will expose her to music, dance, art, and literature. Above all we will teach her to have an open mind and a loving heart. We will guide and nurture her to become the special individual she was meant to be.

We have a large extended family, which includes my Mother, five sisters and one brother as well as their spouses, along with 10 nieces and nephews. We all get along beautifully and enjoy celebrating everything together. This year is truly going to be a year filled with celebration, as three newborn babies will be added to our family. My brother and his wife are expecting in May and my niece and her husband are expecting a week before them. It is going to be so exciting to bring our baby home to all the welcoming arms. We have always imagined our home filled with a beautiful little girl and lots of love and laughter. We really are one big, happy family and everyone is very excited about us adding to it.

We know you are facing a difficult decision and we admire your courage, love and commitment in doing the best for your baby. Please know we will honor your decision always.
