 We live in a nice and safe residential neighborhood and our home is located near excellent schools and beautiful parks for our children to play. We love living in Minnesota because of the seasonal changes and the activities we enjoy each season. In the Summer, We spend time at our cabin in Northern Minnesota. We enjoys swimming, boating and sitting around the campfire with our family and friends. The Fall brings the changing of the leaves and at least one “road trip” to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Of course we are devoted Minnesota Viking football fans and we love cheering for our team. During the Winter we love to ice skate, make snowmen, and go sledding in our backyard.

Both of our families live in close proximity of us and we see each other, and speak, often. Lisa and I were raised in Ohio and met after college. When we met we both realized we had met our soul mates. Within a year we were married. Lisa is a registered dental hygienist, and I am a doctor. Lisa is a full-time mother who takes care of our adopted daughter Madison. Because of our economic good fortune, Lisa will not return to work.

Not long after we first met, we knew we were always going to be together and have a loving family of our own, which included children as soon as possible. Once married, we found out having children of our own might not be possible, or would be extremely difficult. Imagine the four seasons in Southern California: a cool spring morning, lounging in the hammock underneath the trees (with all the animals gathered around – Jedi the dog, Ivan, Felix and Oscar the cats); a hot summer night, drinking lemonade and enjoying the song of the crickets, after a day of swimming at the beach; a warm windy autumn and a trip to Disneyland and a blustery cold winter, the home filled with the delicious smells of holiday cakes and cookies, Christmas celebrations, and a trip to the mountains to play in the snow.

We are excited and honored to have you read our letter. We are Mark and Linda. We’ve been married for four years. We have a 3 year old daughter named Sarah and a big, sweet dog named Savannah. We planned to have two to three children, and after finding out that we were unable to have more children on our own, we knew adoption was the right thing for us. We believe family is extremely important. Mark wants a few children because he grew up as an only child, and Linda was raised in a bubbling household with four sisters, including one who was adopted.
