Adoption: Meeting Your Baby's Birthmother

free domestic adoption newsletters

meeting your birthmother Adoption Network Law Center will guide all Adoptive Parent(s) through the match meeting with the Birthmother. The Adoptive Couple Handbook will detail what to bring to the match meeting, what questions to ask or not ask, and the type of questions to ask the Adoption Advisor both before and after the initial meeting with the Birthmother. This is an emotional time for all involved. Adoption Network Law Center is here to help Adoptive Parent(s) and the Birthmother handle their fears and sort out any issues that may arise. Hopefully everyone will agree to move ahead with the adoption match. If so, the adoption is now in full gear. Congratulations!

As part of our services, Adoption Network Law Center will:

  • Coordinate all meetings between the Birthmother and Adoptive Parent(s) and communicate all status developments as they arise.
  • Provide transportation for the Birthmother to go to doctor visits and to and from the hospital for the birth.
  • Provide vocational guidance and research community resources for her individual needs.
  • Set up advisement for the Birthmother and Birthfather with the Adoption Service Provider
