Domestic Adoption: Meeting Your Baby's Birth Mother

Adoption Network Law Center will guide all Adoptive Parents through the presentation of the adoption opportunity with the Birth Mother. An Advisor will prepare Adoptive Parents concerning what to expect; what questions to ask or not ask, what they should share with a Birth Mother about their lives and what the Birth Mother is interested in knowing about the Adoptive Parents. This is an emotional time for all involved. Adoption Network Law Center is here to help Adoptive Parents and the Birth Mother handle their fears and sort out any issues that may arise. Hopefully, everyone will agree to move ahead with the adoption opportunity. If so, the adoption is now in full gear. Congratulations!

As part of our services, Adoption Network Law Center will:

• Coordinate all meetings between the Birth Mother and Adoptive Parents and communicate all status developments as they arise.
• Provide valid verification of Birth Mother’s pregnancy.
• Provide transportation for the Birth Mother to go to doctor visits and to and from the hospital for the birth.
• Provide vocational guidance and research community resources for the Birth Mother, if needed.
• Set up advisement for the Birth Mother and Birth Father with the Adoption Service Provider.
• Notify the Adoption Service Provider of the birth and coordinate the signing of the Adoption Placement Agreement.
