The world has lost a great advocate for children when Dave Thomas passed away on January 8, 2002. Dave was known as a
talented and dedicated businessman - though his desire to help and care for the most vulnerable children in this country was perhaps his greatest accomplishment. In his honor, his
foundation will continue to commit itself to the mission he set forth: to ensure every child has a permanent and loving home.
The Dave Thomas Foundation has simplified its vision into one statement, "Every child will have a permanent home and a loving
family."
By funding various national initiatives that directly impact waiting children and expanding the public’s awareness of adoption—the Foundation
is focused on making a difference in the lives of waiting children.
