We are so grateful for being introduced to Adoption Network Law Center. The staff supported both our family and the birthparents, answering questions and providing sound advice based on experience. One December day when I was running from the operating room to an office full of patients, I got this astounding phone call from our Adoption Advisor asking a question that changed our lives… “Do you want a baby?” We were so excited and filled with a thousand different thoughts that we had a hard time staying focused. Our Advisor was a Godsend. She explained in detail the birth parents, the adoptive process and gave us the love and support we needed. As you can imagine, there were a lot of tears of joy being at this as we cancelled work, made flight reservations and hugged a lot. We were lined up with the baby’s father and informed about all of the information that we needed to exchange.

Everything happened so fast for us (not even two months) that we didn’t speak with many of you, but we do appreciate all you’ve done for us. Because of Clay and your law center, we have a smile of sunshine every single day!

For the next 24 hours, our Birthmom and we were on a terrible roller coaster ride of emotions because we were told it was illegal according to Colorado state laws to use your services to aid us in finding a baby. Well, obviously it was not illegal and that is why I’m writing today in hopes that I can help anyone else with these questions. Because Adoption Network is a law firm, it is completely legal for us to adopt, making it possible for us to have our little girl today.

You can just imagine the range of emotions that went through us at that moment. People call it the “Circle of Life”. One life leaves this earth while another comes in. I know my father picked out this happy little boy and sent him from heaven to fill our lives with so much love.

It is
actually quite difficult to put into words what our adoption journey has been
like. Yet, at the moment, I am sitting in the study of our home listening to
the sweetest sounds I believe I’ve ever heard. They are coming from our
daughter, who is now almost 8 months old.

The
happiness and sense of completeness that we felt when we held our newborn son
for the first time cannot be put into words.  It was the end of an
adoption journey that began just over a year prior, but it was just the
beginning of our new life as a family.
